Create Your Own Ornamental Glyph

Where: Shop Maybe, 2801 S I35 Frontage Road, Austin, Texas 78741

When: Wednesday, August 19th, 5:30- 7:30pm

Join Studio Tak Tak for a 2hr glass fusing workshop at Shop Maybe where you'll make an ornamental glyph! But what is a "glyph"? It can be an abstract shape or symbol that can represent a character. You'll have access to template shapes or draw your own shapes for your personal, static glyph. You'll learn how to safely cut and assemble pieces of sheet glass into your unique design that can be hung as wall art or a sun catcher in a window.

What's included:

• 2 hrs of personal and professional instruction

• Use of PPE (safety glasses and gloves)

• A 3.5" x 3.5" clear glass square to cut shapes from

• Sheet glass in assorted colors to create the components of your glyph

• Use of glass cutting and fusing tool kit to cut and assemble glass

• Lengths of nichrome wire to connect components

• Kiln firing services post-workshop

Ticket is for one (1) participant. All materials included, no experience necessary! Hanging hardware is not provided.

Please note that these pieces will be available for pick-up at Shop Maybe 2-3 weeks after the workshop. You will be emailed when your pieces are ready!

Requirements:

All participants MUST wear enclosed shoes for this workshop. 

Participants must be 13+. Participants between the ages of 13 and 18 must attend with a participating parent or guardian.

All participants must sign this Waiver before the workshop begins.
